About Grant Awards: Grant awards are for 12 or 24 months and are between $10,000 and $50,000.
Focus Area #1: Access to Opportunity – Degrees / Credentials and Good Jobs
WFM seeks to fund community colleges or non-profits working in conjunction with a community college that seek to implement the recommendations from our report “Securing a Better Future: A Portrait of Female Students in Mississippi’s Community Colleges.” This report focuses on strategies to increase the completion rate of women in Mississippi community colleges.
Focus Area #2: Planned Pregnancies
The Planned Pregnancies focus area seeks to promote and support the implementation of projects that address the issue of teen and unplanned pregnancy in Mississippi.
Focus Area #3: Better Futures / Two-Generation Work
The Better Futures / Two-Generation focus area seeks to fund two-generation education programs that meet the needs of parents and children, together. Program areas should include both providing postsecondary education linked to high-wage jobs for parents and high-quality early care and education for children. Two-generation programs must serve economically vulnerable families. To learn more about the Two-Generation approach please visit Ascend at the Aspen Institute.
